Hello

I have Apache 1.5.4 and 3 ftp progs and none of them will connect to Apache. I use port 80 and on Filezilla i get that they are connecting and waitingfor the welcome message. Then I get timeout detected and unable to connect. I am using locahost in the address bar and if i use www.apache2triad.net i get the same error messages.

any advice woul be great
Heather

Hi Heather,

I think you mean Apache2Triad version 1.5.4.
Apache2Triad is a collection of various servers which includes Apache version 2.2 along with several other kinds of servers.

The similar names are confusing - but Apache (which this forum is about) is a web server for browsers. It is not an FTP server.

Apache2Triad version 1.5.4 also includes an FTP server named SlimFTPd. This is the server you probably want to set up.
Port 21 is the normal FTP port, and this is the port that Filezilla will connect to.

The Apache2Triad instructions for Slimftpd should get you started.
