ive just started using apache i use to use IIS but i figure id switch over to the more popular web host software so now i am using current version of apache. i compiled it myself along with manual compile of php 5.2.
i am using the modsecurity(current version) that is available for download from this site, also am using linksys wrt54g router with windows firewall. and current version of mysql think its 5.0.27.
is there any other open source addons/modules that will improve my webservers security.
and does modssl or apache openssl slow down my page?
thanks in advance. |

SSL does not slown down the connection.
A good security module is mod_security.
The biggest security hole is your PHP scripts. With a proof script programming and mod_security Apache is very secur. |

SSL doesnt slow down the connection but it will create a load on your cpu if you have a very busy site this may be a problem |
