Hello,
I am new to Apache and the whole install process so please bear with me.
I just installed 2.2.3. When I put in localhost to view the default installation page, I get a white page with the heading "It Works!" in h1 tags.
What the hell happened? What happened to the standard default page? Does this sound framiliar to anyone?
I tried downloading the zip folder without the MSI installer and extracted the index.html file to a different directory but it was the same head line, "It Works!" - It was not the standard default page.
What did I do wrong? Can anyone shed some light on this? I would be very grateful for any clues.
Thanks!

That's what it is supposed be - It Works.
For Apache 2.2.x, ASF obvously decided to changes the default page. To prove the point, take whatever HTML file you want to use and copy it over to HTDOCS. Rename the original INDEX.HTML to something like INDEX_ORG.HTML, then rename the file you just copied over to HTDOCS to INDEX.HTML. It Works! doesn't it? |

I was just expecting the old index file with the standard Apache branding on it.
Thanks for your reply.
