Here at the Forum I was getting tons of Spam bots that were registering with links to 'dirty" sites. It was daily work to remove them.
For two weeks I am running now the phpBB mod "Unique Registration Hash". And did not have a single Spam bot registration. For details see http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=430710
