I'm a complete newbie. If this is not the correct forum then please tell me.

In /usr/sbin/
Code:
apachectl -k stop

returns the message:
Quote:
AH00558: httpd: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using fe80::4057:df69:60dd:8ef6. Set the 'ServerName' directive globally to suppress this message
httpd (no pid file) not running

Any way to start httpd?

As a separate issue, /usr/share/httpd/manual seems to have the wrong data:
1: There are no language subdirectories (en/, fr/, de/, etc).
2: Many of the html files open incorrectly, e.g., index.html.
3: References are incorrect (href="") because of the lack of subdirectories, e.g. index.html.en -> anything.
3. The pdf version of the Apache documentation is not in the manual directory, this may be because it is too new.

Of the two issues, getting httpd executing takes precedence.

Help.
