Posted: Mon 07 Sep '15 20:06 Post subject: Finding Apache for OS X 10.10.5 |
|
|
I have been long searching the Internet for a way to have an Apache Server on my desktop iMac OS X 10.10.5 without any results.
Apple does not include the Apache Server in this version of OS X and instead offers its own server, which I do not want.
Can anybody give me the most basic guidance about this?
Thank you for your help. |

The best installation of Apache for MAC that I have found and I personally use is XAMPP.
You can download it from here: https://www.apachefriends.org/download.html
Hope this helps.

Should I be reluctant to download XAMPP for OS X 5.5.28 & 5.6.12 when my OS X is 10.10.5?
Thank you for your help.

I discovered that os x 10.10.5 comes with an Apache server.
I also can find no evidence that the Apache Directory Studio is an Apache server.
I would like recommendations concerning how to use the server.
Thank you for your help.

I am just getting back from a labor day vacation and have limited access.
I will be back in front of my MAC in the AM and can get you better instructions on what do download, how to install, etc.
Check out the forums for MAC install of XAMPP at:
https://community.apachefriends.org/f/
They are fairly helpful.

Almost forgot:
When you get XAMPP finalized, you can do a Google search to find autostart scripts to launch XAMPP. |
