If you use a router you need to configure port forwarding. |

Slightly off topic but anyway:
This is very different between routers.
Some typical menu sequences:
TP-Link: Forwarding -> Virtual servers
D-Link: Advanced -> Virtual server
Xfinity is probably the name of your service provider. What is needed to tell you more is the brand (NetGear, TP-Link, ...) and exact model. Check those little stickers and prints on the bottom or back of the box. |

On a xfinity router you go to the configuration menu via browser, choose advanced and then the menu point "Port Forwarding".
There you enter the following:
services name: other (nothing to choose)
other service: Webserver (just a name you choose)
service type: tcp
server ip address: (the ip of the computer running the webserver in your lan)
start port: 80 (for simple http)
end port: 80 |

Well then the first problem seems to be solved?!
The second problem could be a dns or router problem.
Do you use a proxy?
What about your browser configuration?
Where is your server located (lan, dmz, ...)?
Check that! |
