I had a development server that I could get to all of my Joomla 3 sites on until I converted two of the sites into live sites (we are retiring the old webserver where I will eventually use it as the new development server - not optimal, but budgets are what they are). I am not sure if I need to adjust my vhosts file further or if I am needing to add something else so I can reach the other sites still in development (www.site.edu/department or www.site.edu/division ... I am able to reach the department.site.edu without any trouble for the two that I had our IT department set the DNS entries for).
Would this be a vhosts issue and I'm not typing my entries correctly or is this using a different protocol entirely? Before I changed and added the virtual hosts I could get to all 9 sites. Now I can only get to the two that I have explicit names for and have a virtual host setup. I have tried adding in virtual host for the ... would you call it a subdomain? but that doesn't make a difference to anything with a /entry. Mostly I think I'm not finding the right keywords to search for this... |

For every domain you need a dns-entry - not for subdomains.
For connections from the internet to internal servers you need a reverse-proxy-configuration typically done with vhost-entries.
But honestly spoken, i still did not understand your recent configuration. Can you describe the net-structure? |
