Hi,

The fourth and last beta for 5.6.0 was just released and can be downloaded from:

http://qa.php.net/

The Windows binaries are available at

http://windows.php.net/qa/

Please test it carefully, and report any bugs in the bug system. The first Release Candidate will be tagged on Tuesday 17th and released on Thursday 19th.

Regards,
Julien Pauli and Ferenc Kovacs

My builds:
http://phpdev.toolsforresearch.com/php-5.6.0beta4-nts-Win32-VC11-x86.zip
http://phpdev.toolsforresearch.com/php-5.6.0beta4-Win32-VC11-x86.zip
http://phpdev.toolsforresearch.com/php-5.6.0beta4-nts-Win32-VC11-x64.zip
http://phpdev.toolsforresearch.com/php-5.6.0beta4-Win32-VC11-x64.zip

The extensions in my 5.6 builds can be mixed with the php.net binaries. PHP 5.6 has a backwards compatibilty break. php_apc, php_apcu, php_qb and php_xcache do not compile yet. php_apc probably never will be released for PHP 5.6.

Looking forward to the official release how much faster is php 5.6 compared to 5.5 it has been so interesting seeing how much faster and less memory they consume everytime.

Can't wait for a official benchmark.

Xcache builds for PHP 5.6 if you use the latest DEV code on the author's site.

@chipper: thanks for the tip. Today QB also was adapted for PHP 5.6. I have recompiled the X86 NTS version. Others will follow.

An hour ago PHP_APCU was also patched for PHP 5.6. The X86 NTS version is already recompiled, the others will follow.

It looks like PHP 5.6 is up-to-par with PHP 5.5 at the moment.
