After months of thorough testing and running by quite some users, there is now a separate download page for the VC11 builds. It is "offical now". Also e.g. groups at Microsoft and PHP are using it and have tested.
The best combi at this moment is PHP 5.5.x (also VC11) and Apache from here. The PHP dev's using the Apache Lounge binaries too.

Yep, I see it as a very "snappy" build. You can use that Redistributable with the builds, it is advised. It is the same link as with Update 2, Apache Lounge runs with it since it was released
The soon(hopefully) coming 2.4.5 is planned to build with Update 3. Although in the C++ area there are no changes impacting Apache.
