Topic: When Apache 2.4.1 Win Binary from Apache ?

Hi,

Can anybody tell me when Apache is going to release the Windows binary distribution of httpd 2.4.1?

At Apache (ASF) the official release is only the source code. They ship source code, for most platforms the vendors (like e.g. Red Hat) are packaging it or a user compiles it by himself

The Windows binaries they supply are an extra service and it depends that someone at ASF has time or is willing to make a Windows binary.

For 2.4.1 they say now that they leave it, for the time being, to the Binaries from others places like Apache Lounge and Apache Haus. Maybe there comes a time that they do not ship at all Windows binaries. One reason is that 2.4.1 has more dependencies like Lua, Libxml etc. to keep on track.

But in the past, for windows, only binaries are available and not source code. As we can see the source code for Unix, when can we expect the source code for Windows? or the same unix source code can be used somehow?

The source code for Windows is exactly the same as the *nix source code, except:

Line feed:

Unix (only LF)
Windows (CR LF)

Apache and we just converting the LF to CR LF with the perl script lineends.pl
