Hello,

I am using axigen mailserver behind a secure apache virtual host.

That is difficult since:
- axigen is using cookies ("In order to access axigen webmail you must etc") and
- it expect to be on the root of the webdomain www.<mydomain>, where I would have prefered www.<mydomain>/mail

I solved that in apache 2.2 using proxy in combination with a subdomain.

<virtual host"1" "mydomain">
Redirect /mail https://www.mail.<mydomain>
</virtual host>

<virtual host"2" "mail.<mydomain>" (secure host)
ProxyRequests Off
ProxyPreserveHost On

<Proxy *>
Require all denied
</Proxy>

rewriteengine on

<Location />
Require all granted
ProxyPass http://localhost:81 (Axigen)
ProxyPassReverse /
</location>

However since 2.3.16 that solution does not solve the cookies problem any longer.

So I think there are differeces in the mod_proxy behavoir I have to deal with
1) syntax
I think
*used to be*
<Location />
Require all granted
ProxyPass http://localhost:81 (Axigen)
ProxyPassReverse /
</location>
*is now*
<Location />
Require all granted
ProxyPass http://localhost:81 (Axigen)
ProxyPassReverse http://localhost:81
</location>

2) proxy was passed, but is not passed / at least hot in the way axigen expects any longer.

The ^prefered (however not working) solution^ by the way is

<virtual host"1" "mydomain">
Redirect /mail https://www.mydomain>/mail
</virtual host>

<virtual host"2" "www.<mydomain>" (secure host)
ProxyRequests Off
ProxyPreserveHost On

<Proxy *>
Require all denied
</Proxy>

rewriteengine on

<Location />
Require all granted
ProxyPass http://localhost:81/mail (Axigen)
ProxyPassReverse http://localhost:81/mail
</location>

However that impies that
1) proxy is working for cookies (original problem) +
2) Axigen understands that the incomming URL is not localhost but localhost/mail (no idea how to do that)

Any sugestions to make at lease the proxy working for cookies?

Sincerely,

Louis
