There is also a version a and b mod_fcgid avaliable on the web, they differ. Was not aware that they used the same naming convention as AL.

I shall rename the version here with a Px in it. So ppl are less confused anymore. Hope that others are not using the Px indentification in the future.

If installed the mod_fcgid2.3.6b before, does it need to upgrade to the 2.3.6-P2 ?Or keep mod_fcgid 2.3.6 b? Question

What is the differences between mod_fcgid 2.3.6-P2 and mod_fcgid 2.3.6b? only asf patch?

2.3.6b is from Apache Haus yes? If so, there is more difference to the modules.

Apache Lounge 2.3.6-P2 now has this patch Steffen pointed to, and
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc/httpd/mod_fcgid/trunk/modules/fcgid/fcgid_spawn_ctl.c?r1=1037483&r2=1037727&pathrev=1037727

Apache Haus' 2.3.6b has neither of these two patches in it, but has the patches to deal with it crashing Apache during restart, or when the php crashes and would crash mod_fcgid which would then crash Apache itself.
https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=50309

Apache Haus' 2.3.6c (only with Apache 2.3.14 currently) includes these three patches;

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=50309
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1037483
http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1037727

So they are very different but target different things.

If plain old 2.3.6 creates restart problems for you, stick to 2.3.6b
If plain old 2.3.6 does not create restart problems for you, but you get the dreaded " (70008) Partial results... " error, then go with the Apache Lounge's 2.3.6-P2

If you have both problems, I suppose a "d" with all the above would be in order.

Thank you glsmith.

Is it possible to create mod_fcgid 2.3.6d for apache 2.2.x that it includes those 3 patches?

+1 for the suggestion of a 2.3.6d containing all the previously mentioned patches. I was using the ApacheHaus 2.3.6b as I was suffering from the restart issue it patched. But I also suffer from the dreaded 70008 error.

I've used the new 2.3.6-P2 ApacheLounge version and it beats the 70008 into submission but the restart issue has come back for a visit. So currently I'm on 2.3.6b (ApacheHaus) with my permissions workaround, until someone packs the changes together Smile
