Hi All,
I could see Apache 2.2 binary installation downloads showing as 32 bit, however in the Minimum requirement it also mentions Windows 2008 R2.
Windows 2008 R2 is a 64 bit operating system - so can Apache 2.2 (which seems to be 32 bit application) still be installed and used on Windows 2008 R2 (which is a 64 bit OS) ?
Thanks. |

Yes, no issues heard to run it. And users reporting that performance is on par with a 64 bit version.
Till now I do not see any real advantage to run a 64 Apache over a 32 Apache.

Thanks for the prompt response.
Is Apache 2.2 also available to be installed as 64 bit on Windows 2008 R2?
Or it HAS to be run as 32 bit?
Thanks. |

I advise to run as 32 bit.
Advantage is that not all stuff around Apache is complete available 64 bit, for instance some third party Apache modules and php mods.
