Hi,

I am a complete newbie in Apache so I would really appreciate your kind patience, understanding and forgiveness if I've asked a stupid question. Embarassed

OK here goes...

I've been tasked to replace an existing webpage. The webpage is named index.html and resides in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\dummy\eip. I renamed the new webpage to index.html and overwrote the old one in the folder. When I typed the URL in IE, the old webpage that was supposed to have been overwritten still shows up. I've tried clearing cache, Internet files, etc. but the old webpage always shows up without fail.

Do I need to restart Apache service after updating an index.html file? Someone please enlighten me as to what I've not done yet to complete this task.

Thank you very much in advance!

Is there any caching? What's in the logs?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

Caching -- I don't think so. Is that something that can be configured?

The webpage is actually an alternate website for users to access in case the main one goes down so nobody is accessing this webpage yet. When I call up this webpage in IE, there is no error in the log.

Thank you and have a happ holiday!

There can be also server side caching Wink
Are there several vhosts on that server or just that one site?
