Yep.
As soon as the src is in http://www.apache.org/dist/ then it is official (the mirrors are seeded).

in README.txt written what zlib-1.2.5, but Apache\bin\zlib1.dll is 1.2.4.
maybe in next version replace it?
or update current with zlib-1.2.5 and OpenSSL 0.9.8p/OpenSSL 1.0.0b?
when i replace manually on the latest zlib1 & ssleay32/libeay32, apache some times crash and openssl.exe dosn't work.
possibly need some fixes?
thank you for your work.

It's a pity that we don't have OpenSSL 1.0.
It would allow the use of ECDHE ciphers that significantly reduce the load of the higher RSA key sizes that we now see being used, such as 4096 bit - giving much better server scalability where the clients support it too.
Deference to the 'Apache' way of doing things is espoused, however... (I can't actually see a rational basis justification for this... and I've tried! But I'll assume there is one! )
Meh, I hope that it is not merely a decision with its roots in the appeal to authority fallacy and that it has a real justification.
Cheers,
Nick |
