Greetings everyone,

I've been stuck on this problem for all day long. I recently purchased a domain at godaddy.com, www.francoisbolduc.ca. I decided to host it on my newly windows 2008 home web server. I run the latest XAMPP software.

But my ISP blocks prt 80, so i want to redirect it to port 8080. I did open the necessary ports on firewall and router. My website works perfect under this url: http://www.francoisbolduc.ca:8080/.

I guess you can see me coming right? I want my website to be accessible under http://www.francoisbolduc.ca . I read that i had to modify my httpf conf file. But i have no knowledge of Apache and I am a beginner to this stuff.

Would someone be kind enough to guide me ?

thank you!

It requires a little url forward and a subdomain.

see http://www.dslwebserver.com/main/sbs-webserver-on-a-different-port-number.html
It's ancient, surprised it is still there, but still 100% relevant and although this is for IIS, the principle is exactly the same in Apache.
