Hi
I am a simpleton and am having difficulty in getting Apache to work;
I am running Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version 2003 with service pack 2 on a Intel 2 quad CPU with 8gb ram
I have edited the httpd file
bin\http.exe -k install
works fine and correctly installed. However, when executing
bin\http.exe -k start
there is an error message - (OS 10048) Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted. : make_sock: could not bind to address 0.0.0.0:80 no listening sockets available, shutting down
Unable to open logs
So, I have a port problem and am rather stuck.
This computer is one in a network of 8 as a peer to peer network.
Sorry to be so troublesome, but a reply would be much appreciated. |

You have to find out what is running on port 80. Did you try to open http://localhost ?
Also you can find out from the commandline with netstat -nb |

Nothing else? So what is running on port 80? What do you get, when you open http://localhost in a browser on your server? |
