That error log shows me that apache has no errors. I recomment you not to install VS.NET. Sometimes the debugger causes more errors than it helps.
If you don't get a working solution you may take a look at this thread

hi James, as per ur recomendation i uninstalled the VS.net but still the problem is same, its giving same error, but just give "just in time debugging" type of error. Is it a problem due to malware or spywear.
i think my installation of apache and php is ok. i think i should unstall windowxp and do fresh installation without VS.net. Wat you suggest. i will the thread that u gave to me
thanks once again.

While uninstalling MS .net framework 2.0. It asked me question
"unhandled error in win32 file httpd.exe this application should be closed closed before uninstall"

So there might be the problem, i uninstalled it but problem is same. So i will try to uninstall apache and reinstall it and will try it again .

hi. i uninstalled and reinstalled apache and tried and surprisingly i wrote the info prog

<html>
<body>
<?php
phpinfo();
?>
</body>
</html>

and tried to access thru local host. And it worked but i saw all things properly installed php,apache, and mysql but still its showing that error. ITs allowing me to scroll down and see the page and as i click ok button of the error the server crashes and gets disconnected. Now wat can be the problem. Same time its now allowing any other program to run properly. if i try to run any php file other than above code it show output for just html tags.

hi
thanks for reply.
The thing is that apache is working as normal, when i uninstall php then apache works as normal. Even i install php it strarts properly but at the time of shutdown of server it gives error or when i run the php script.#
If i read my previous problem. IT shows the phpinfo(); properly when i run that file thru localhost but show that same error.(when php is installed) i can scroll down and read but when i click ok button of error message server shutdown.

When i install php the file php-cgi.exe is always missing. Is it related to this problem.

http://www.php.net/downloads.php

from the above link i download windows binary

"md5: 94e551037e7c9c056f90179f351c0560" 6 may 2008

and if i dl the zip file above this it has the php-cgi.exe file

the installer i dl dont have that file and few other files as well.
so is it possible for u to check that plz. I will be really thankful to u.

I tried to install WAMP server (bundle of W,A,M,P) with phpmyadmin.
it works fine.

i dont want to use that.

plz clearify the above points.
many thanks in advance

is there any link on this forum for php then i will dl that link and will try to install that.

or for both apache and php

LoadModule php5_module "E:/program files/php/php5apache2_2.dll"

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html

PHPIniDir "E:/program files/php/"

Action Application/x-httpd-php "/php/php-cgi.exe"

remove the last line. You can only run as module or cgi.

only

Code:

LoadModule php5_module "E:/program files/php/php5apache2_2.dll"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html
PHPIniDir "E:/program files/php/"

There is an error in that PHP code.

Code:

<html>
<body>
<?php

echo '<h1> This is php info file </h1>';

phpinfo();

?>
</body>
</html>

Are you sure that this file has the extension .html and not .htm? Your apache is so configured that it parses .php and .html
so you may add .htm as well
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html .htm

Don't for get to restart apache.

Do .php files work?

No please don't use AddType, use AddHandler instead.

AddHandler Directive
Description: Maps the filename extensions to the specified handler

AddType Directive
Description: Maps the given filename extensions onto the specified content type
