Problem: I can not access my website from public IP address obtained by my ISP provider.
Hello! I am new to this forum. Any advice you Gurus can give me would be deeply appeciated.
I have installed on my labtop Apache Server 2.2.4. My operating system is Windows XP. Localhost works just fine.
I can also access my website from my private IP address with in a LAN. Every time I go to a website like
http://whatismyipaddress.com/ and have someone type my public IP in their browser my website cannot be seen.
I have been trying to fix this problem for several weeks now.
I know I need to configure my window xp firewall and have done that. I also have called my ISP and
asked them if they are blocking any ports there answer was no. I type in (netstat -nb) to determine
if any programs were blocking an ports did not find any. I did find out from my ISP that they only use
two ports 8080 and another one, so i assume they do not use port 80. I thought I had solved my problem by
changing my Listen directive to 8080 but to know effect I still can not see my website on the Internet
using my ISP's public IP address. Also my internet connection on my laptop is connected directly to a
modem. There is no router involve so port forwarding is not an issue.
This may be important as well! I have turned my t-mobile phone (motorola Z3) into a modem.
I use a data cord and a downloaded driver (USB_Driver_32) to connect to the internet.
Any advise or suggestions is much need and welcomed!
Thank you very much!! |

Does your mobile phone support portforwarding?
Did you try http://_YOUR_IP:8080/ ? |
