You guys should try as backup utility ROBOCOPY, which is a Microsoft freebie.

Robocopy is created by developers at Microsoft and included in the 2k3 Resource Kit.. this is a nifty little app that has robust copying capabilities... (other utilities had problems with corruption or timing out, but this one has settings for retries and timeouts).

Robocopy is a Win32 console-mode application designed to simplify the task of maintaining an identical copy of a directory tree in multiple locations, either on the same machine, or in separate network locations. Robocopy effectively provides file replication on demand.

Robocopy is very powerfull. Like it can only copy over the missing or updated files to the destination (local or remote system); it can also delete any files on the destination that no longer appear in the source (if some is deleted).

If you have not installed the the Resouce tool then you can download Robocopy at www.apachelounge.com/download/robocopy.zip (doc included) this version runs under Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000.

Thanks Steffen, I think this may be just what the doctor ordered, cannot wait to get home to test things.
