The RewriteRule docs https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_rewrite.html#rewritecond say "When you want to erase an existing query string, end the substitution string with just a question mark."

And later it says the [QSD] flag means "Discard any query string attached to the incoming URI"

What is the difference?
