I am a bit puzzled. I have a website at www.example.org , and I configured it for HTTPS with a certificate via a dedicated virtual host (www.example.org.conf). Everything works; however, the server also sends a second certificate configured for the default HTTPS host, which is meant to be used for www.defauthostformyserver.org. (000-default.tls.conf) It is also being used for that default host without issues.
Is there a way to skip the additional loading of the certificate configured in 000-default.tls.conf for www.example.org.conf? |

If I am not mistaken, the second cert from the default host is sent to clients with no SNI support.
I'm unsure why immuniweb.com scans consider "Server sends useless certificates." a "Misconfiguration or weakness". Qualys SSL Labs also detect this but do not complain about it.
Hmm, does anybody have a comment on this? I will be interested to read a second opinion. |

Use your "best" domains certificate for the default vhost. It will never match, but at least it is a valid one.
Keep in mind that immuniweb wants to sell you consultation. |
