In 3 months the PHP 5.6 branch is End Of Live 1 January 2019.

Supported versions: http://php.net/supported-versions.php

Here at ApacheLounge we follow the VC versions in line with supported PHP releases.

PHP 5.6 is build with VC11, so we can drop ?

Also with VC11 we are dealing that it is not fully compliant with C99 , and sometimes a pain to build and test, we have to change the source (C99 is the C programming language standard, VC11 supports C89, VC14/15 C99).

What do you think ?

I'm using PHP 5.6 without any problems with the Apache VC15 compilation.

A switch to PHP 7.0/7.1 is not planned anymore, as both versions have problems with the Windows compilations. PHP 7.2 will take some time to wait, as many PHP applications are not ready yet Mad .

Since PHP put out a 5.6 release in January we are doing a 2.4.38 VC11 release.

So I keep VC11 up to date coming time, do not know yet when I stop with VC11.

With mod_fcgid is it possible to run any VC version of PHP.
Also 5.6 is no longer supported see https://secure.php.net/supported-versions.php

And PHP 7.1 is only VC14
7.2 and 7.3 is VC15

The original PHP version 5.6.x (VC11) worked fine on my server with the Apachelounge VC14/VC15 builds. In the meantime, I've updated to PHP 7.2

VC11 is not updated anymore.

The Last 2.4.38 you can find on the Additional download page.
