Hi, this is a question related to users sharing an IP address.
The default mod_evasive settings supplied are okay if there is only one end user using the site on that specific incoming IP address, but if the IP address is a proxy/gateway for a business where perhaps 10 to 1000 users at a time could be using the site then that IP will be blocked far too often.
Does modevasive check for x-forwarded-for or anything to distinguish multiple users per single IP address?
Have you any guidance on having a DOS prevention requirement to handle Single User / Single IP as well as Multi User / Single IP. |

You can block only the external IP. |
