So I run a very small soccer website. The hosting company use Awstats to read the server logs. I know virtually nothing about apache or stats, just FYI. So recently there has been an increase in visitors with 1 page and 4 hits with 47.58 Kb of data. To hit my homepage is usually 1 page 28 hits and 1.8 Mb of data. It is now becoming more a trend to have numerous visitors each day with the exact same count 1 page 4 hits 47.58 Kb data. Different IP addresses and legit ones from the USA. Residential customers not corporations or colleges etc.
These visits do NOT show up on my Google Analytic pages I think obviously because the visit is so short?
I can see one every so often , but I am seeing multiple and consecutive visits with the exact same numbers. Any ideas what might cause this?
Any insight would be appreciated. |

If the visits do not show up in Analytics, they are most likely from searchbots that do not know anything about the javascript that Analytics depends on. |

Thanks Jan. But these visits are coming from residential accounts. I do get bot visits and GA does filter those. But I dont think all these residential roadrunner accounts would be bots. You think. |
