I just discovered that 2.4 allows me to define user variables. I've wanted this feature for years, so I added 2.4 from here. It's working great!
My 2.2 was installed via the standard Windows installation mechanism, so presumably I can remove this via "Programs and Features" in the Control panel.
I notice that the Apache Monitor has detected 2.4 automatically, but it still knows about 2.2 as well. Presumably it will remove 2.2 once I uninstall it (which will be about this time next week; I like to have a fallback when installing new software).
Incidentally, this is my maiden post here. I've been running Apache for years, I was a webmaster with IBM before I retired a couple of years ago. I nearly lost my job at IBM after spending too much time helping others in forums and newsgroups. Now, I have httpd on my desktop at home, mostly for testing purposes and publishing the occasional image or article (http://swiftys.org.uk, but don't get excited; I keep it sparse) |
