Either I am looking with my nose or you did not compile VC9 versions (x64 & x86) of mod_fcgid 2.3.9. Is there a special reason for that? I often change back to XP because we have a customer with IE8, so I'd like to have my Apache 2.4.6 VC9 x86 really up-to-date.

Gregg at Apachehaus provides VC9 builds, but I am curious why you did not.

We said goodbye to VC9 for ~2 years ago and started with VC10. On request of the PHP guys, for building, there are still VC9 httpd binaries at the additional download page.

The VC9 httpd binaries loads VC10 modules on XP.
Why do you not use VC10 on a XP box ?

Gregg and friends skipped the VC10 bandwagon and to serve his XP and 2003 users, he still has VC9 modules (VC11 does not support XP and 2003)

I really do not like mixing VC versions with WAMP installations. For instance, both Apache and PHP are using ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll. Apache VC10 comes with VC10 versions of those dll's (dependent on MSVCR100.dll) and PHP 5.3/5.4 ships with VC9 binaries of those dll's (dependent on MSVCR90.dll).

That leaves me three options:
1. Replace the VC9 DLL's with the VC10 versions
2. Replace the VC10 DLL's with the VC9 versions
3. Do not replace any, but accept that Apache and its modules use VC10 versions and PHP and its extensions use VC9 versions.

None of these options give me a comfortable feeling.

I think mixing and matching msvcrts is not a good thing to do unless there is absolutely no other option. This is one reason AH skipped the VC10 bandwagon, php 5.3/5.4 was and still is VC9. There was no legitimate need to move to VC10 other than to feel like the cool kid with the latest and arguably greatest.

AL does not want to be the cool kid with the latest and arguably greatest, we want the best for the webmasters! VC10 had quite some features/improvements over VC9, special for the latest windows versions.

No issues when you load VC10 mods and other external deps in a VC9 Apache, it is supported by Microsoft.

Using php 5.3/4 with VC10 or VC11 Apache, no problem. So far no issues seen or reported.

When you know an issue, please tell.
