I have Windows 2003 server standart edition for my apache 2.2.2 with PHP 5.1.2 for intranet
I installed the server, but nothing more. What is usefull to install. I mean in the intranet we don't need it AD, IIS and all the other stuff. We use it only as file server in a workgroup it is not a domain. What is usefull to install?
Sure for what having then a w2k3 server when not using the components? buisness politics... don't ask... |

The network core is mutch mutch better in 2k3 server... XP Pro x64 also.
So thats a nice boost aswel.
Other than that i don't see what you could use 2k3 has to offer accept the extra security and optimizations. |

2k3 also give the added benefit of having all unneed stuff disabled like the Windows Audio service, themes,... and has it settings set for background programs. |
