In Windows Vista/7/8.x/2008/2012 try right clicking on the Notepad menu item and choosing "Open as Administrator", make your changes and save. |

You have to first run notepad as administrator. If you right-click on the Notepad icon, there is a choice
to Run as Administrator [1]. You can then open httpd.conf, make your changes and save.
[1]
On Windows Vista/7/2008 a menu pops up next to your cursor with the choices.
On Windows 8/8.1 & 2012 a bar shows up at the bottom of the screen with the choices. |
