|
|
Today is the Windows 64 build available at the download page http://www.apachelounge.com/download/win64/, also the most popular Windows 32 modules. Special mod_fcgid, so you can run PHP with the download from php.net.
For info about httpd 2.2.21 release, see http://www.apachelounge.com/viewtopic.php?p=19169
How come ?
Endly there is a new server here, a Dell PowerEdge. One with Windows 2008 R2 SP1 and very nice specs. So there is now a system to test Win64. Building X64 was possible on XP 32, but there was no oportunity to test (quality has for me a high priority).
In the meantime I am waiting for a UPS, then I switch the site also to the new server. The old server (also Dell PowerEdge) is from september 2003 (quite old), is still runing 24/7 Apachelounge after 8 years.
Enjoy,

I could not find any x64 binary release on http://windows.php.net/download/
Any thought if you can release yourself also a PHP x64 ? Would be much appreciated! |

Sorry nope. Policy is that we are primarily offering Apache. In the forum here Apache Building & Member Downloads there are member builds of PHP 64.
Be aware that the PHP guys are advising not to use a 64 bits PHP. Also read (I believe James Blond) that PHP 32 is faster.

The 32 bit is faster and more stable. Except of file system operations cause the 64 bit can access it some kinda more native. But I won't build an web app with accessing the file system |

I was just thinking, any chance of an installer like the 32bit version?
Theres a reason im using windows after all, mainly that i hate doing everything manually, when things can be automated..
Not that i care much, because once this thing is installed, it just runs beautifully, and you likely rarely have to change anything. |

One tends to learn more if they get their hands dirty though. |
