| Is there a way to copy index file descriptions to a flat file automatically? At the moment I have to copy by hand the descriptions of a couple of hundred files off a university server for my own index to have the right file descriptions. |

If the description is always the same you can use AddDescription
---edit ---
Maybe you can use a hack like
AddDescription "Acrobat Reader File" .pdf |
