Topic: Msvcrt.dll woes - any ideas?

I have a nearly fresh install of Apache 2.2.10 with PHP5 and mod_perl. I'm replacing a server that died earlier this week, so I have an existing webroot and config files from the old Apache install. I've been carefully copying over settings one at a time from the old config, and now I've run into an error that I can't track down. Apache won't start as a service with mod_perl enabled; it generates this error in the event log:

Faulting application httpd.exe, version 2.2.10.0, faulting module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.3790.3959, fault address 0x00037e23.

and I see these lines in the error log:

[Fri Dec 05 18:49:43 2008] [crit] (OS 6)The handle is invalid. : master_main: create child process failed. Exiting.
[Fri Dec 05 18:49:43 2008] [error] (OS 6)The handle is invalid. : Parent: SetEvent for child process 0 failed

However, if I open a command prompt using "run as..." and my webserver account, Apache will start using these same config files - no changes.

Does this behavior ring a bell with anyone? Any ideas at all?

Even i also face prblem with 2.2.12 apache win32

but i am not getting this error...
