Hi guys.
First thanks to Steffen, this site is a wealth of knowledge.
After recently losing my server to a series of attacks I have started again!
It seems the best protection im going to get is mod_security. I am running xampps install in windows.
I downloaded the windows binaries from this site and installed them as it said in the readme file. Is this sufficient? Or do i need to do more?
I have found a load of rules from gotroot. However i don't know what to do with them. Can anyone help?
The file i downloaded was apache2-gotrules. The zip contains the files
apache2-rules.conf
badips.conf
blaklist.conf
blacklist2.conf
exclude.conf
jitp.conf
proxy.conf
recons.conf
rootkits.conf
rules.conf
useragents.conf
i then downlaoded the extra conf file for windows i named it windows.conf
So what do i do with these files? Or are they unneeded? Did the binary from this site have everthing i need?
Thanks
