I'm using Apache 2.2 for Windows on a Windows XP Pro computer.

This is the first time I've used Apache.

How can I change the directory to where my web site is stored? I would like to put it on a different drive that what is the default.

Thank you in Advance.

Change the "DocumentRoot" in httpd.conf to what you want. Also, change the corresponding <Directory "C:/apache2/htdocs"> as well.

I made the changes to both the Documentroot and the Directory. I moved my web site to the new drive and folder and then rebooted the computer. After the reboot my web site stopped working. I could not get to it from the web, or the host/server computer.

I'm new to Apache, but I looked in the error log and I couldn't see anything.

Also, I'm running Apache on an XP Pro OS.

Does it make any difference if the new location for my web site is on a different drive (a network drive)?

Yes .. it does.

Since you are new I'd suggest putting the site on the same computer Apache is running on.

At some point in time you can run the apache service with a limited user account at which point it will pull from network shares.
