I have an Apache 2.0.54 server configured as a redirector and have a problem serving up Office 2003 Work, Excel, and PowerPoint files as links. The user is challanged to re-enter their credentials when a document is selected. This is caused by something called Microsoft Office Protocol Discovery that was put in place to help users of Microsoft server with colaboration. From the tech note article id 838028 the clients Office 2003 is opening another session with the server that is serving up the documents in an attempt to determine what the file permissions are on the document. From that same tech note it states that non-Microsoft server can configure their http1.1 options to disable this feature and give the users read only copies of the files. How do I configure my Apache server for this problem? |
