this has probably been asked but i am having hard time referencing to it.
i like to switch vhost from non-ssl to ssl local resources will stay the same
just to allow a secure connection.
fyi: ssl ceret is shared among other vhosts.

If you are using name-based virtual hosts, this is an Apache SSL Frequently Asked Question.
In short, the certificate must have the name of the virtual host in it. The connection needs be established using the certificate before the browser sends the name of the virtual host - so there is no way to choose the correct certificate if your IP address is shared by several different host names.

thanks 4 the info
after getting lost with mod_perl in the last 40 hrs
i overlooked the obvious so its down to seperate ip for each vhost
or configure the dns server for different ports such as 444..445..456 and so on.
kiss terms provide better reference 10 years from now.(-:
also have a newby right behind me wanting to use apache server(-: |
