On request of Jakob Kruse I build mod_scgi and it is avaliable at www.apachelounge.com/download/
Jacob has tested it with Ruby on Rails and it works perfectly with the Apache build from the Apache Lounge. Thanks Jacob.
What’s SCGI
The Simple Common Gateway Interface (see http://python.ca/scgi/ ) is a project to replace CGI and FastCGI with a simpler protocol to both implement and manage. It was written by Neil Schemenauer and adopted by many Python developers as a hosting option.

Details on using mod_scgi to run Rails applications thru Apache are available here: http://www.zedshaw.com/projects/scgi_rails/howto.html
I tried several solutions and found this to be by far the easiest. It performs reasonably well for my purpose (which is very low traffic). |
