Hello all,
I'm setting up Apache 2.24 on windows XP with OpenSSL and Tomcat 5.5.20. (I downloaded the installer from Apache Lounge).
Everything went well until I configured to access via SSL. My httpd.conf has been modified to call mod_ssl. I encountered error message that Apache Win32 does not support encrypted key file. So, I have exec this command "openssl rsa -in server.key -out newserver.key" to bypass SSLPasPhraseDialog.
Now, however when I wanted to start Apache, I'm getting the message "The requested operation has failed" from Apache Monitor. The System event viewer is saying that "The Apache2.2 service terminated with service-specific error 1 (0x1).".
FYI, I have modified the httpd-ssl.conf not to request for client certificate just yet. I just want to get the https connection up.
Please assist. Thanks.

How did you install the service?
Maybe you uninstall and that install with httpd -k install -n Apache2 |
