I've downloaded the 224 zip file from the Apache Lounge, unzipped the contents to d:\apache2 and edited the httpd.conf file and changed the default paths from c:\apache2 to d:\apache2. I've not added anything else to the conf file (yet), however, I cannot install the service.
At the command prompt I enter:-
httpd -k install
and get the following error message: The system cannot execute the specified program.
The entry from Event Viewer is:-
Event Type: Error
Event Source: SideBySide
Event Category: None
Event ID: 59
Date: 13/01/2007
Time: 18:03:20
User: N/A
Computer: ATLANTIS
Description:
Generate Activation Context failed for D:\Apache2\bin\httpd.exe. Reference error message: The operation completed successfully.
.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
Anyone get any ideas?
Thanks, Phil. |

Looks like you did not installed the new Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package.
I placed all over the place that it is build with Visual Studio® 2005 Service Pack 1, like in the readme and notice text files.

Thanks Steffen - I had not read your instructions properly, and assumed it was the non sp1 version.
However, I have been looking for a download for the SP1 package, but cannot find one. Do you have a link for this download?
Thanks, Phil |
