Acivistate has run ActivePerl 5.8.8.819 , see www.activestate.com/Products/ActivePerl/?mp=1.
The mod_perl for 5.8.8 from here is working with this new version.
The main user visible change will be that the command line shell is replaced by a graphical user interface. Vey nice and handy. The ppm command continues to work as a command line utility.
