I downloaded the php4apache2.dll and I have tried to load it from my php directory, win/system32, the root of my C & D drives, and apache's module directory. Nothing works. I even upgraded from Apache 2.2.2 to 2.2.3 and repeated the exercise, but always get "... module could not be found."
When I installed Apache 2.2.3 I also tried it with the vanilla/unmodified httpd.conf -- same results.
I reviewed the php install.txt and I can't find anything I missed.
It is a good thing I got a haircut yesterday or I would be tearing out what little hair I have left!
Anybody have any ideas on where to look or what to try next?
Many TIA!

What version of php do you use and which Apache distribution you use ( from here ?).
When you follow www.apachelounge.com/viewtopic.php?t=570 , then it should work.

Well, I downloaded and installed httpd-2.2.3-win32-x86-ssl.zip
from here and now php is working.
But apache only works from the command line. When I start the service it abends with "The Apache2 service terminated with service-specific error 1."
Anybody knop what this is about
Thanks for the help!
