Hi,
We just transferred a site to new hardware and Apache 2.4 and found out ThreadsPerChild was bottle-necking connections.
We increased ThreadsPerChild to 250 and are in the clear but I was wondering what is the cost of increasing ThreadsPerChild?
Put another way, if we somehow knew it would never go over 200, what would the difference be in having ThreadsPerChild at 250 vs 500?
Lastly, is there any good way to tell how high we can or should go with ThreadsPerChild based on hardware and other server resources. We're using mpm_winnt and running MySQL and a mix of ColdFusion and PHP scripts on this one.
Thanks for any pointers,
Andrew |
