I do not know my head from tail when it comes to mysql, but you are saying that Apache 2.0.63 is the best you can get to run on Windows? Have you tried bumping the version to 2.2.8?

again .. there are others here that can help with the mysql part but
I can say I have Apache 2.2.8 running with PHP 5.2.6 and I know there are others here, running same with mysql as well.
As I write this I know at the bottom of the forum index right now is highlighted a recent post to
"A Fast, Reliable and Proven Setup :: Apache PHP MySQL Perl"
http://www.apachelounge.com/viewtopic.php?p=11082
That's gotta say something. Makes me want to give the mysql part another go.
