Topic: Need help building apache httpd 2.2.22 with openssl 1.0.1c

Hello.

I'm using Visual Studio 2008, from the command line.

Steps I've done:

0) compiled openssl fips 2.0.1 per http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cmvp/documents/140-1/140sp/140sp1747.pdf

1) download the win32 source from apache mirror.
2) extracted
3) download the zlib 1.2.7 source
4) extracted zlib into srclib and compiled it with no issue. nmake test works fine.
5) downloaded openssl 1.0.1c source
6) extracted openssl src to srclib
7) compiled openssl with the following command lines
a) perl Configure VC-WIN32 fips --with-fipslibdir=c:\basedir\fips\out32dll --prefix=c:\path\to\install\location
b) ms\do_nasm.bat
c) nmake /c /s /f ms\ntdll.mak
d) nmake /c /s /f ms\ntdll.mak test (which works fine)
8) compiled apache with nmake /nologo /c /s /f Makefile.win _apacher

This step fails with

Any help would be appreciated. These steps all work with the older openssl 0.9.8x and fips 1.2.4, but due to government restrictions, I need to update to latest fips / openssl.

That looks to be a openssl/0.9.8ism and possibly 1.0.0 too. It is no longer in use in 1.0.1 and so all you need to do is remove from mod_ssl.dep file all lines pointing to that file;

"..\..\srclib\openssl\inc32\openssl\pq_compat.h"\

The guy that normally produces the "official" win32 source packages seems to have fallen of the face of the earth which is why the 2.2.23 ones are not there. I export my own out of SVN however well before they ever get released and if you want are here;

You will have to do the same with the mod_ssl.dep file to this as well.

Many thanks. That did the trick. Also had to remove references to store.h from modules\ssl\mod_ssl.dep as well as pq_compat.h from support\abs.dep
